aseriaa: Hey :) I saw that you're playing Shingakkou? From your posts, you know some Japanese and you use translator engines? I don't know any Japanese whatsoever, but I was considering playing this game with the translators (atlas, etc). Were you able to understand what was going on? Thanks^^
I took Japanese for two semesters 10 years ago, so I know some Japanese. I understand it better when spoken rather than read. I do use a translator because I wouldn’t be able to understand the non speaking lines at all. The translator aggressor gives you an idea of what is going on and you can figure out what it’s trying to say generally. For the speaking, I translate it myself and check the translator if there’s a word I don’t know or forgot. However, there are some lines where I had no clue what it was trying to say. I had this issue a lot with Neil’s mottos.
I’ve considered translating this game myself because it’s so good and people need to play it. I just think my translation wouldn’t be as good as someone with solid knowledge of Japanese would be.
Anyway to answer your question, yes I understood exactly what was going on. I believe someone who doesn’t have any knowledge of Japanese can play the game and understand it pretty clearly. I can’t recommend this game enough too. The story is good and the characters are good. It’s just a really awesome game.
I really need to post my review of it…
Well then…I think we should get to it. Ten minutes later…
Oh, Konno, You’re so dumb. You should know that Kujo doesn’t mind. In his head he’s probably like:
